Pledges Pay for Epiphany:

Blessing of the Animals,
St. Francis Day,
Celebrated on October 8, 2011
A four legged member arriving to be blessed gets Everyone’s attention.
Lay Ministry Schedule:
Please use the following link to open the Lay Ministry Schedule for the 1st Quarter 2012.
Columbarium:
The following letter was sent to Parish members from Father Ron.
Dear Epiphany family,
Many desire to be near the church even in death. That is why we are building a second columbarium wall on the south side of our memorial garden. The new wall will house 60 niches, which doubles our current capacity.
I have received inquiries from several of you already and would like to begin construction this fall.
The cost for a single niche, including urn and face plate, is $1000.00. This is a one-time expense. The cost for two urns in one niche (double) is $1750.00.
Please feel free to contact me at the church office to set an appointment to view the grid of available niches and review the contract. The sooner we have subscribers the sooner we can get started.
Pax,
Father Ron
Episcopal Church House of Bishops Pastoral Teaching:
Please follow this link to open the Pastoral Teaching issued by the House of Bishops of the Episcopal Church on September 20, 2011. The teaching concerns the environmental and spiritual crisis affecting Earth.
Support Epiphany:
Please turn in your Pledge for 2012 as soon as possible if you have not already done so. The Vestry uses your pledge to plan for the coming year. Your pledge is needed so we can develop and approve a budget for presentation to the congregation at the annual parish meeting scheduled for Sunday, January 29th. Your annual pledge determines our finances and what we can do as a church in 2012. Please prayerfully consider your financial response to the needs of the parish.
Spring Clean 2012:
Church Pay-Away Projects:
The Property Management (PM) Committee, supported by the Vestry, is undertaking a new approach to funding some persistent maintenance projects around the church. Our new program is called: “Pay-Away Projects.” Pay-Away Projects are similar to Lay-Away Purchases where the church accumulates special donations over time to pay for some expensive goods and services. Through member contributions and donations by other organizations, the church will reach the financial goal for each project or repair.
A foam billboard in the Parish Hall will list the major projects for all to see and contemplate supporting. Contributions should be made payable to “The Church of the Epiphany” and please identify the project on the memo line of your check. This will ensure funds are directed to the correct project.
Some of the planned projects are large and may require years to fully fund. Therefore, it is best we get started now. After all, some trees can require decades to grow. In comparison, what’s a few years in the life of our church?
The Epiphany Spring Clean 2012 is Saturday, March 3rd from 7:30 a.m. To 2:00 p.m. We need volunteers to sign-up so we know how much lunch and beverages to bring and how much work to plan.
This year we have the following planned:
1. Paint the Farm House interior rooms excluding the Foyer, Finance Office & Sun Room.
2. Sand & Paint the Farm House exterior window frames & sashes, eaves, doors, and shed.
3. Parish Hall & School roof cleaning and tree trimming.
4. Parish Hall kitchen and oven cleaning.
5. Parish Hall & Church doors and window cleaning.
6. Columbarium, Memorial Garden East Wall & Bridge touch-up painting.
7. Red curbing touch-up painting and fire hydrant painting with regulation yellow.
8. Trim selected trees, shrubs and orange picking.
We’ll start promptly at 7:30 a.m. For a blessing, a brief safety and training session following by team assignments and beautification. Please call the office for information or if you can help with food, drinks or snacks.
Camp Epiphany - 2012:
Summer will be upon us before too long, and it is NOW time to prepare for Camp Epiphany. We are inviting ALL members of Epiphany to be a part of this great week [the last full week of June]. We are starting the planning process. Camp Epiphany week will be multi-generational [not just for kids!] and we ask everyone to think about what you can do to make the week memorable. A list will be posted in Burkhardt Parish Hall soon for you to sign up to help in an area.
Wahoo!!!! Great fun ahead!
