Youth Education

Students at the Original Epiphany Day School, Circa 1960’s

God talks is a multi-media topically based Bible study curriculum for 7th through 12th graders.  Youth can explore God, Jesus, the Bible, their faith and values in ways that show them how real and relevant these topics are in their lives.  Some of the units include:

   - Who am I?

   - Who is God?

   - Family, does it matter?

   - Can I make a difference?

Please contact the church office for enrolment information.

Classes and Curriculum:

We currently have numerous activities for our younger members during the sermon. If your child wants to participate, simply ask them to follow the cross out of the church following the Gospel reading.  They will return during the peace and in time to receive communion.

Sermon Time Activities

Young Epiphany Stars—YES—is our fellowship group for 4th, 5th and 6th graders. One Sunday afternoon a month YES gathers for a fun activity—a zoo trip, pottery painting, ice-skating, miniature golf, etc.  We’ve even launched soda bottle rockets. The activities are chosen based on group suggestions.

Camp Epiphany, a week-long Vacation Bible School for children completing kindergarten through sixth grade, is scheduled for each summer in June. Through stories, lessons, crafts, games and service projects children examine how God works through our lives and celebrate God’s great love for each of us. The camp theme and dates are announced by early spring.  Please see the members and Happening s pages for more information.

Holy Communion instruction is offered for children in second grade and above in the form of an eight-week class for children and their parents. Children explore the Holy Eucharist through learning centers, games, role-playing, discussion, and family activities. The themes are as follows:

We Gather as a Family

We Gather to Celebrate

We Gather to Listen and Learn

We Gather to Care and Share

We Gather to Make Peace and be Forgiven

We Gather to Give Thanks for Creation and New Life

We Gather to Share a Meal

We Gather to Go Out to Make a Better World

Holy Communion classes begin in the fall and require a minimum number of students, so they are not offered every year.  Please contact the church office during the summer if you are interested in the Holy Communion class.
